Duty to decline services: The tarot professional shall decline to provide further reading services to any client when the tarot professional believes, or has reasonable grounds to believe, that the client is utilizing tarot readings as a substitute for, rather than a supplement to, professional mental health counseling. Upon making such determination, the tarot professional shall advise the client to seek appropriate services from a qualified mental health professional.

Prohibition against misrepresentation: The tarot professional shall not engage in dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation in the provision of tarot services. The tarot professional shall not:

Required Disclosures: The tarot professional shall make reasonable efforts to disclose to all clients that:

(a) Tarot readings cannot replace the counseling services of a licensed mental health professional; and
(b) The tarot professional cannot guarantee accuracy in the interpretation of any reading.

By booking a reading, you as a client understand in unambiguous terms that such readings are provided for entertainment purposes only. By requesting or receiving reading services, the client acknowledges receipt of this disclosure. See also Article Five: Disclosure Statement.

The tarot professional shall clearly communicate the fee schedule and payment terms to the client before providing any reading services.
Prohibition against coercive sales practices: The tarot professional shall not pressure, compel, or suggest to clients that additional paid services are necessary following a reading. The tarot professional shall not claim or represent the ability to manipulate the outcome of events through supernatural or occult means.

Confidentiality

Duty of confidentiality: Notwithstanding the absence of a legally recognized evidentiary privilege between the tarot professional and client, the tarot professional shall voluntarily assume and be bound by a duty of confidentiality. The tarot professional shall not disclose personal or private information relating to a client reading except with the informed consent of the client.

Disclosure statement

Limitations of services: Clients shall not rely upon tarot readings to make decisions affecting their legal, financial, or medical condition. Clients whose inquiries involve legal, financial, or medical matters shall seek the advice of appropriately licensed or qualified professionals in those respective fields. Tarot readings cannot replace qualified mental health care services and are intended solely to facilitate client decision-making within the context of the client’s personal circumstances. All tarot reading services are legally designated as being for entertainment purposes only.

Eligibility requirements: Services are provided only to individuals who are of sound mind and eighteen (18) years of age or older. By requesting services, the client represents and warrants that the client meets these eligibility requirements.
